The approximate time and location will be determined soon. It is an international day of remembrance and action for workers killed, disabled, injured or made unwell by their work. The day is celebrated annually. Workers' Memorial Day is an opportunity to highlight the preventable nature of most workplace accidents and ill health and to promote campaigns and union organization in the fight for improvements in workplace safety. The slogan for the day is "Remember the dead – Fight for the living".

  • Day of Caring:  Rochester's single largest volunteer event is taking place Thursday, May 8, 2014. Each year, thousands of people from area businesses, schools and youth groups lend their time, talents and energy to meaningful volunteer projects that make a difference in our community.  Once again it’s for us to give back to the community and a time to help those less fortunate than ourselves.  Last year more than 20 of our members volunteered and worked on projects in and around Rochester. We hope you'll sign up and participate this year.  We need you so please volunteer. You are welcome to include your family members as well.  This is a very rewarding project to lend your time and talents to so please volunteer!  Contact Clint @ ext 303 to put your name on the list. Thank you in advance because Local 435 members are always very generous with their time and giving to our community. Lunch and a T- shirt will be provided.

What can Labor do for itself? The answer is not difficult. Labor can organize, it can unify; it can consolidate its forces. This done, it can demand and command.—Eugene V. Debs
