STATEMENT OF EXPECTATIONS

Late to Work:

When employees are late for work, they keep the contractors waiting and give them the impression that the employee doesn't care. Other side effects of lateness are low morale, lower production and frustration.

It is extremely important that you as an employee arrive on time so that the contractor can assign tasks to the entire crew at the same time at the start of the shift. Tardiness makes it highly difficult to assign work because the contractor is not sure if they need to request another laborer or have the rest of the crew fill in for you until your arrival. When you are late it will cause a disruption in the operation of the completion of the project. You as the employee have to take steps to ensure you arrive to work on time.

No Call No Show:

While it's unrealistic to expect each employee to never call off during his or her career, it's not unrealistic to expect a phone call when he or she can't make it to work. A no-call, no-show is a serious violation and must be addressed immediately. An employee who refuses to call when he or she knows that they will miss a day of work shows a lack of concern to both the contractor and their coworkers. Continuous unauthorized absence is a negligence of duty and hinders the day to day activities within the project.

We as a labor union value attendance and consider it to be a significant factor. Our goal is to service our contractors with second to none labor and attendance problems are not acceptable.

Once you are contacted for employment please keep the contact information for the foreman and superintendent for that specific job. You need this information so if any issues may arise you can contact the foreman or superintendent. DO NOT CALL THE HALL. WE WILL NOT CONTACT THE CONTRACTOR FOR YOU. YOU NEED TO CALL THE FOREMAN OR SUPERINTENDENT.

Updated 2014 Union Projects List:
