About Our Union

Laborers’ Local 435, headquartered in Rochester, NY, proudly represents more than 1,000 skilled construction workers who help build, maintain, and advance the infrastructure of the Greater Rochester region. Since receiving our charter in 1918, our members have played a vital role in many of the area’s most significant developments—including the “Can of Worms,” the Van Lare Wastewater Treatment Plant, Innovative Field, and the Midtown Redevelopment—along with countless other projects of every size across Western New York.

As proud members of LiUNA—the Laborers’ International Union of North America—we belong to one of the most dynamic, diverse, and forward-thinking unions in the country. Through strong collective bargaining and a commitment to worker empowerment, our members earn family-sustaining wages, robust health and retirement benefits, and access to continuous training and career advancement.

Local 435 members form a highly trained, safety-focused workforce across both the construction and energy sectors. From roads, bridges, transit systems, and schools to high-rise structures and critical water and sewer infrastructure, our members build the foundation of our communities. In the energy sector, they support the construction of solar plants, wind farms, natural gas and oil pipelines, and provide skilled maintenance within nuclear and coal facilities.

Our jurisdiction covers Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates Counties. We are affiliated with the Upstate New York Laborers’ District Council, the Building Trades at the local, state, and national levels, and the AFL-CIO.

Together, we are driving progress—supporting our members, improving our communities, and building the foundation for Western New York’s future.
